Missy Parsons

Missy currently serves as the Communications Coordinator for Severn Leadership Group.  Before joining the SLG team, Missy spent the first 15 years of her career as an educator with Baltimore County Public Schools.  In addition to her role as a BCPS classroom teacher, she supported teachers by developing curriculum and delivering professional development.  She applied her leadership skills as a Team Leader, Student Mentor Coordinator, and Professional Development Site Coordinator for Loyola University.  She continued her leadership development with a Master of Science in Human Resources and Educational Leadership from Towson University.  In 2021, with the birth of her second child, she took a step back from leadership in education to stay home with her two boys before transitioning to the field of communications.  She enjoys being able to apply the skills she developed in the classroom to support adult learners in their leadership journey as SLG’s Communications Coordinator.  When she is not working, she enjoys reading and getting outside with her three young boys.
